    Chieftec Dragon LGA1366 Build
    by dmill89
I recently got ahold of a bright green Chieftec/Chenming "Dragon" case (I've always liked these cases, especially in "oddball" colors) and decoded to throw together a period correct-ish build.

ATX PSU Cooler Master RS-700-pcaa-e3 shutting off after 5 seconds
    by dariolana
Got this from my kid with a fault on primary side. Main power supply here is AC 220V. All caps were Ok, testing with 2 series lamp of 70W each, got a bright lamp . Checked main heatsink one by one with my component tester and found one 3 leg buddy MDP18N50 that passed away. Got same replacement after a week, tested, short was gone, now I got 310V on primary.

Happy as a dog, added one case fan for some load and the fan of the PSU. Tested purple wire, got 5.1V, great!. Shorted green and black, fan spins and after about 5 seconds shuts down. I was able to measure doing several iterations...

    Samsung LN52B750U1FXZA - Backlight Issue
    by fuzzyrunner
    Hello All!

So here is the issue I am having. When everything is plugged in as normal, the TV turns on and I get a quick flash of the backlight. After that the backlight never turns back on but the rest of the TV works fine. If I pull the PWM pin from the cable between the main board and power board the backlight turns on and the tv works "normally". If it is plugged in I get nothing. I did do a factory reset but that didn't solve my issue. When everything is plugged in normally I get .6v at start up and continues rise over about 10 seconds. (~.6v then ~.8v then ~1.8v...

Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 not charging

We have a ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 that operates from the battery only but will not charge. 20V is present near the USB-C port. I'm new to laptop board troubleshooting. I can't figure out where the charge voltage comes from. Which MOSFETS do I check first? The board is NM-E211.

HOW BAD IS MY PCB DAMAGE A2338 820-02337 water damage burnt caps
    by TheNuclearOption
Short on ppbus. Taking 3a at 1v and nothing is heating up. I have at least 3 pads that are badly burnt from capacitors. Ive scraped (at least attempted to) not sure how good I did? Are these possibly containing internal shorts? Do you think they need to be scraped more?...

Acer Nitro AN517-52 FH51M LA-J871P Works on battery only. Won't charge.
    by gadgettree
    Hi there,

I am having trouble diagnosing this gaming laptop.
The laptop does not power on with AC Power only. The battery also does not charge. The laptop turns on when the battery is plugged in, regardless of whether or not the charger is plugged in until the battery dies of course.
So something is stopping adapter power from getting to the laptop. I checked Adapdet to make sure that the motherboard knows when the adapter is plugged in. That works fine.

I suspect the first Mosfet isn't turning on but I am unsure how to properly diagnose that...

    BIOS for HP HDX18 DAUT7GMB8B0 REV: B
    by mferna14
Hi, I am working on a very old HP HDX18 (X18-1374CA S.# CNF92830L1 Windows VISTA), Motherboard # DAUT7GMB8B0 REV: B. No display at all. It taking all the reqiured amps & all rail volts are good enough to turn the laptop on. I even reflowed the GPU but still no luck. If someone would look into their Archieves, maybe might find the BIN file for this model. Anyway I am uploading the BIN Files, if someone can Redo (Cleaning) it & then might get the display. Thanks in advance....

Asus X1403ZA rev 2.1 no power short on main
    by johnbeton
    Hello,

I have an Asus X1403ZA board. Came in with no power or charge light. One screw of the hinges let loose and was dancing around inside the laptop.
I have 19v coming in the first mosfet, but nothing on the source or gate. (also no voltages on other rails, no shorts on coils)
The current resistor and source of the second mosfet are short to ground. I have looked for schematic or boardview, but nothing to be found.

Anyone have tips where to start ?

    Hello. I have a Dell Inspirion M5010 with S/N J8NBXMI with board 48 4hh06 011 with the following problem:

Many attempts are needed for laptop to boot up, but when it does, everything works normal after that.
I think my BIOS is corrupted. Could someone please provide a working file for that laptop?

Posting the old one in the attachments.
